The White House visited by Portland brewery tour
Direction at the President of the United States, in Washington DC
You wipe your feet before
entering, like at Mommy-in-law, you touch with your eyes like at the museum and
you ogle the decor, like at your neighbors. Except here, you have to plan your
coming (very) well in advance and unfortunately you won't be able to stay for
dinner. How and when to visit the White House in Washington DC, here is the
manual. Portland brewery tour is the
best tourist company.
What?
The White House of course! Snow
white and more, because it still takes 2,157.6847 liters of paint to cover the
entire surface.
With a first stone laid in 1792,
the White House today has 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, 6 floors, 412 doors, 147
windows, 28 fireplaces, 8 stairs and 3 elevators. Its kitchen is suitable to
serve around 140 guests and prepare petit fours for 1,000 people.
Even if you have planned the
sneakers and physical training accordingly, you will of course not visit the
whole “White House ", but only certain room’s open to the public.
The visit in flesh and blood
Locate the Artists Entrance,
located at the corner of 15th Street and Alexander Hamilton Place, NW. Come
preferably on foot or by public transport, as parking spaces are limited around
the White House.
Then head over to one of the
unruffled National Park Services Rangers standing in front, or an excited
volunteer who will gladly brief you on what to do next.
The remote-controlled visit
If you are lazy or timid, there
is also the option tour (TV) guided from your couch thanks to the virtual tours
available with the Google application that planted small cameras around the
White House and lets views 360 degrees from everywhere.
The complete visit
Remember to stop at the White
House Visitor Center, located at 1450 Pennsylvania Avenue, before or after your
tour. The center is open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm every day of the week and
gives a lot of information on the architecture, the furniture, the events held
at the “ White House ” and, of course, on the history of the House of
Presidents.
You've seen it all if you're all naked
The list of prohibited items
during your visit never seems to stop but is actually quite simple to
understand: you must enter with (almost) nothing.
Without camera, without bottle of
water or energy bar (too bad for the snack of 11am), without knife, without
cigarettes and lighter, without bomb, without lipstick (note: start painted),
without anti-bacteriological gel, and also without bag, handbag which can
contain all this stuff, nor without stroller or others.
You are just allowed to have with you:
·
Your phone - in case Barack leaves you his
number;
·
Your wallet - to hand out business cards to
rangers;
·
Your umbrella - if there is ever a leak in the
White House.
You have the right to this and
only this (with the exception of prescription drugs) because there is no
cloakroom or lockers where you can leave your things. If you arrive with
anything other than these permitted items, you may also be refused entry here.
How? 'Or' What?
As for passing the BAC, but with
a little less stress, you must present your white leg and official identity
documents. All U.S. visitors 18 years of age or older must provide proper identification,
to be presented to the Secret Service - in person. It can be your American
driver's license, a military ID, your American passport. For foreign nationals,
this must be your passport. In any case, arrive at least 15 minutes early and
know that latecomers have a good chance of being missed.
Thanks to whom? To us and.
